Finishing Aix Tasks

Out early with Michael to walk him to the 7:40 airport shuttle. Kiss my boy goodbye, then head back, hopefully for a little more sleep. Silly girl! Rest for a bit, then up and prep to head to the market. Matt wakes up and goes with. We pick up some things to prepare dinner – tired of eating out so much – and back home.

I’ve saved this day to take care of final errands because we’re planning to rent a car (yes, I found a place nearby and scoped it out already) and spend Wednesday and Thursday in the Luberon before heading out Friday morning. I changed my plans a bit to leave a day early  because I think I’ve done what I came to do here, and added a day to Italy to walk the Cinque Terra.

Anyway, Matt and I pick up some trinkets to take home. After dropping it all off, I head out again for some shopping (have not quite scratched that itch), and I find a great store. I try on quite a few things, and the very stylish woman helps me finish off each  with a beautiful scarf. They have so many beautiful scarves that I’d like to buy about three or four more, but I don’t. She smiles when I tell her how much I love the “French look” and she rolls up the bottom of my pants, as most men and women do here. I m good to walk down the street now!

Armed with my large bag, AND the double wrap belt I asked about that she threw in as a gift, I head to La Poste to find out about cost of mailing things home. There are no little cheap, soft-sided duffles for sale anywhere and I’m hesitant to buy one and then have twice as much to lug around through Italy anyway. Aha! I buy two pre-paid shipping mid-size boxes and traipse home with a box under each arm and a bag hanging from each hand. What a sight! Sorry, no picture of that.

I pack the boxes and Matt and I head out to deliver them to La Poste. Back to apartment where I whip up some artichokes and ratatouille, eat a healthy dinner with NO bread, then head over to the Internet cafe right around the corner for three hours to start rebuilding the blog. A tired girl then falls into bed.
