Poor Matty, he was up during the night with stomach cramps before the inevitable conclusion. I have breakfast alone ( and yummy curried vegetables with fresh fried bread puffs for the traditional offering), settle the bill, then we head to the river to board our boat for the taxi. But not before filling a small plastic bottle with water from the sacred river to add to my collection.
The usual check in, security (don’t have to remove shoes!) and flight nonsense. In Delhi, have to get bags, hop in a car, head to a different terminal and just make our next flight. A bit of a delay, but land safely, hop into the car with our new driver and head to our hotel. All the while, my baby has his hurting head in his hands and is just hanging on until he can get to our room and drink water and rest. Aaaah, the hotel. Like a little florid palace, it is. We’ve been upgraded to a suite and we happily tuck into our beds and watch a little Harry Potter. We’re expecting to hear from our new guide when he returns to the hotel with his current clients. We’re getting a little blasé about palaces and Hindu temples, but we will see what’s what in the capital of Rajasthan.
