Tucket Time

Took the mini-plane over to the island and was whisked to Starbuck road by Marilyn. After settling in, I checked the week’s activities and saw that a Harvard Law Professor was speaking at the Atheneum, so ate a quick repast, then hopped on the bus to town. He was interesting, but spoke on a national strategy to dilute the influence of special interests on government – not exactly what I was expecting.

Tuesday, headed off the book club with mom. Defending Jacob  was the book, and luckily, I had read it (and it’s GREAT – if you haven’t read it and enjoy a thriller, a much). Lively discussion and my presence was appreciated. Met up at the house with Stacey, who had just flown in for a show at the club. Sunning on the back porch, yakking, and girls night out with Marsha and her friend. Had a great dinner, then back to the hood. We walked into town, with mom and Stacey veering off at the club to start setting up for the show.

I went the rest of the way into town, took a tour, then walked back to the club where I helped Stacey finish setting up (not much real help, though). The show opened at 5, and I hung with her for a bit, then when it closed at 8, we had dinner with the rest of the family.

Stacey was up and out early for the 9 am open. I biked to town, grabbed a fatass sandwhich at Something Natural, then hung out with Stac during the very slow action at the club. After a while, I biked home and laid out in the sun on the back deck. Mom and Dad went out to a big party and Stacey and I stayed home to cook and laugh, and laugh and laugh…

Friday was mellow…finished up errands, helping mom with technology questions, going for a nice, long walk, and a nice dinner out (it’s pouring out!) at mom’s favorite spot: Dune. Back home for a quiet evening and then packing up. Time for a run in the morning, pick up a sandwich from SN, then on the plane and winging my way back to the Centennial State.
