Today is beach day – another long, beautiful stretch of undeveloped coastal fun, allowing people and mating turtles to share the environment. After breakfast along the river, in the back of the hotel:
We walk into town to catch a public taxi out to the beach. When the boat is full, we pull away, and head downriver and through the maze to the beach:
We pull up to the dock:
and head out to the beach, which is long and lovely, with a small restaurant, again camouflaged:
After a few hours, we take a taxi back into town, which is still in its sleepy state:
Stop to have a bite to eat:
and check out a few more scarves:
and head back to our hotel. I spend quite a bit of time lounging and working on the blog in the little gazebo area:
So relaxing and so quiet. We have dinner by the river at our hotel. Check out the burial tombs built into the cliffs across the river:
Shortly after, we hop back in our car, and head to the airport, where we check in to return to Istanbul, overnight at the airport hotel, and then back home in the morning.
