Graduations Galore!

May brings not only flowers, but graduation. David and Jake both walked their walk this year; the former in Boulder and the latter in New Jersey. I was lucky enough to play host for Marilyn and Bill, and for brunch for the Ackermans, as we celebrated David’s accomplishment. Some shots:

A fun few days for sure! David left two days later for his job in Utah and everyone headed home. Lance and I boarded a plane and flew out to New York City, for some sightseeing, culture, and a visit with his daughter Ashley. We enjoyed celebrating our one year anniversary at a revived jazz club up in Harlem on Friday night. Saturday I wandered on my own while Lance has some one-on-one dad time, and I headed down to Union Square for the group dance protest parade. Evidently there’s still a law on the books in the Big Apple that says group public dancing (like in a bar) is against the law. So of course, all kinds of dance clubs, DJ’s, etc, were out in force doing nothing more than dancing in public. Some great costumes and dancers:

We all met back up for Saturday night dinner at one of our favorites: Boulud Sud, with Ashley, (here are a few pics why we love:)

then to see the Realistic Joneses on Broadway (with a killer cast) and Sunday, took the Circle line on a boat tour around the whole island. Always wanted to do that. Fun!

Lance headed home on Sunday and I took the train out to Livingston to join the festivities for Jacob Baydush Forman. Stacey put on a stellar meal Sunday night, of course:

including cocktails and toasts:

and a ridiculously good (and cute presentation) banana pudding for dessert:

although as you can see here, Stacey preferred the mini-cupcakes:

Needless to say, all were more than satisfied.

Next day was brunch, then off to campus for outdoor graduation ceremony. We yelled appropriately when the master’s name was called, and he was officially out of college. Now for the hard part: a job! Family went home and I stayed another day and a half to have some quiet time with everyone. Then back home and time for resting.
