Camp Llao Llao

A leisurely wake up and then we headed for the most recent breakfast abbondanza. After, we packed our bags and headed out in different directions. I decided to do my Ansel Adams thing and walk the grounds and the golf course, snapping everything that looked good (and that was quite a bit, as you will soon see).

Down the backside of the hotel, past the infinity pool, across the road to the golf club building, and the little peninsula into the lake. I shot across the water, through the trees, laying on the ground…whatever!

and you can spot our boy in the blue suit still laying by the pool (and much to his chagrin, you really CAN get sunburned when it’s not so hot out).

After I had taken every shot I could imagine, I headed into the locker room, changed into my suit, and laid out for a bit. Then met Michael for a bit of lunch in the hotel. A look at the Winter Garden restaurant, where they have high tea daily as well as the lunch buffet. Killer views, too:

So beautiful. And so easy to imagine it when jam-packed in the winter ski season. As it happens, there is a bridge tournament going on, and I go and watch for a bit before we have dinner. Same process and same conventions. The interesting thing for me (mom!) is that they use cards for bidding. Not one word until bidding is through. I think they played duplicate bridge because there was no dealing – their hands were already dealt and in little containers.

A light bite of dinner in the same spot where we had lunch (didn’t feel like driving out some place), and then into bed for a good night’s sleep – we’re getting up at 6:40 to meet our guide for a half-day of float fishing!
