Back to the Tellepsen fun house. It seems things keep moving right along there, whether I’m around or not. Dinner and playtime, then Betsy and I got to have a little quiet time after the kids went to bed. After enjoying Sam’s bottom bunk bed last time around, I got to sleep in Emma’s pink palace. She was surprised when she awoke in the middle of the night and was down on her trundle bed! She decided to join me in her big bed, so we snuggled up and went back to sleep. New day, new walk. Bets and I headed all around the neighborhood. I’m finding it hard to keep the exercise level up on par with the snacking activities. Going to have to work on that. Then she and I and Sam and Charlie headed to the Dulles wing of the National Air & Space museum. SUPERCOOL!! We saw an IMAX movie on the evolution of flight, headed up to the observation tower to watch planes landing at the nearby airport, then trucked into the main exhibit area where we saw REAL planes, a space shuttle (the Enterprise, no less), all kinds of passenger planes, robots used on space missions, some of the original Apollo capsules, gliders, the first-ever bomber, etc., etc. A concorde plane, german fighter plane, helicopters and all kinds of cool pilot uniforms and historical swag. You can see a picture of the buds and I as we’re perched in front of one of the aircraft. Moving camp now to the Lane home near downtown, where I’ll be able to hop the metro and be a tourist for a while. Nightly dinners planned with loved ones I have yet to see. Will report more later!
