Strike….that Flight!

Arrived at the airport 2 hours ahead, only to wait in the luggage line for 2 hours, head to gate and 2 hours later finding out the flight is cancelled (a strike at the domestic airport). I’m too tired now to really share the incredible experience (like flight cancelled while board says “see gate agent”, downstairs not being able to buy any new tickets because they’re being protected for people who were on the cancelled flight, being asked to wait another hour or two for a supervisor to exchange tickets, then being told we had to do it through the call center, etc etc etc).

One hour taxi ride later, we were at the Holiday Inn near the international airport, and Lance is really not feeling well. Don’t worry, though, it’s like a head cold with a bit of fever. He just needed to rest. I use Skype to notify our car rental and hotel, order room service (when will it arrive?) and set our wake up call for 3:15 am (flight at 5:55. We’re now going all the way south to Ushuaia and then to El Calafate. Twice as far and twice as long, but it was the only way out).

Hopefully the next post finds us in beautiful Patagonia!
