Okay, so the Mexican stops do not interest me. However, I head out to find excellent fish tacos and Dios de las Muertos paper mache statuettes. I wander the streets of Viejo Vallarta and it’s nice and hot. Fish tacos at Marismo:
and walking further along, I just had to order at one of the little stands where all the locals were standing around eating their breakfast:
Fun to eat like a local, but rather dry, so I ditched mine after a couple of bites and kept walking until I found a place with birria tacos (outer tortilla is fried by older woman inside, but all the beef is cooked and chopped up by the man out front:
not only was it excellent, but while I was sitting and eating, the Puerto Vallarta Food Tour group stopped in for one as well!
Done eating, I walk back into the newer part of downtown to enjoy the beautiful church:
and saw some people I knew from the boat. City tour over (for me), I headed down to the sand to relax in the shade for a while. Freshly made ceviche tables on the sand:
which I def didn’t have the nerve to try. After a couple hours, I made my way back to the boat. But not before seeing the 4 men perched on top of a pole (see featured image). I have no idea what they were doing, but I’m sure it’s some kind of display for the tourists. Over and out…
