Big family party and barbecue to mark Kaia’s 40th and what great fun it was. The Chitterson family arrived Friday night so Chris could build the barbecue oven. He woke early in the morning (3?) to start the coals and then Michael joined him about 5 am to load on the whole hog he’d slaughtered and cleaned.

The day was spent hanging by the (cold) fire pit, enjoying the view, watching Chris whittle and munching on a bit of pork tenderloin as time passed, the afternoon arrived and so did their friends.

Fun in the hot tub, outdoor games and wandering amongst the revelers passed the time until Chris deemed the pig ready, and it was carted to a table and slowly picked apart as the table was laden with goodies and the feast began.

Birthday cake,

more hot tub,

patio fire and capping the evening with a sauna visit and all were sated. Some families departed and others spent the night. Breakfast and breaking down the barbecue stove and quiet descended on suwarrow once more. But thanks for all of the wonderful weekend energy!
