A Cotswald Wedding

After Ireland, I flew over to London to (scratch off my list) visit the Tate Museums

and eat at the fount of Mr. Ottolenghi’s empire.

Met up with Stacey and Jeff, who accompanied me on much of this tour. Stacey and I had a ball in a unique, only-in-England hat shop

And walking through a beautifully lit up city for dinners

As it happened, London was, at the same time, being occupied by Climate Change protesters, agitating for the government to take more action

After those few days, we then hopped in rental cars and drove out to the Cotswalds for Caroline’s wedding to Mark. What a grand celebration and experience it was!

Siblings toured the English countryside and quaint villages

enjoying a bit of shopping, but of course

Enjoyed pub food and local, award-winning cider,

And on to the rehearsal dinner, held in a hundreds-of-years old former barn,

and the big event, held at the castle-like stone building captured in the feature photo for this post. The ceremony was imbued with Mark’s musical colleagues from around the world. We were treated to a 30-minute concert first, then an aria and other music within the ceremony itself. I was profoundly fortunate to be sitting by Lisa, as we were both swept away into rapture by our surroundings and the musical talents that enveloped us.

Food, dancing, incredible conversation with Ayden. Always hearwarming and grounding to be with the family

and then when the band

the happy couple

had finished, we descended into the converted wine cellar

who’s staring at you from the powder room walls?

for more drinks, baudier dancing and fun until it was last call for the bus (really, it’s 2 am already?) and back to the Wild Rabbit Inn to sleep and depart the next day. Thank you Caroline for the wonderful experience, Hynda and Tucker for making it happen.
