Away We Go!!!

Well, finally, another trip. It seems like it’s been way too long since I’ve gone gallavanting, but hanging around Boulder has enabled me to take care of a lot of business and transition to (mostly) retirement. My realtor was in the house for 3 hours on Friday, taking pictures so it can go on the market next week. Right as wheels-up for Asia!

I have almost finished reading a history of Myanmar, written by Thant Myint-U, son of the former UN Secretary-General, U Thant. Really adds so much dimension to the trip, and as it happens, some of this history included parts of China that I will be visiting in the fall!

This trip focus was diving in Raja Ampat (look it up!), but I added Myanmar on because I was hoping that the only very recent opening of this country would enable me to enjoy a more authentic immersion than is usually possible when traveling to a country that has been plundered for so many years. And Angkor Wat is so close by I had to check it out….

It looks like I will have internet access everywhere, but who knows if it’s strong enough to upload pictures, or I will have (make) the time to post every day. I will slap something up at least every 48 hours, so you know I’m still alive, mom.

Thanks for sharing the adventure with me!
