Betsy arrived on the morning of the 6th. We whip into town to pick her up and back home before you know it. Just enough extra time to stop at the mailbox and pick up gifts from Stacey. A stellar sunshade hat:
extra gardening gloves and other goodies. Thanks, Tatey!
Betsy gets what is now the standard introductory tour and then we’re in the garden hard at work (?):
there’s so much oregano in the garden, Betsy gives the dehydrator a go:
and I now have a lovely jarful of freshly dried oregano (which I use constantly). At the same time, I am canning my first jar of ginger pickles (out on the patio so I can boil the giant pot on the outdoor range):
By now, we’re ready for the troops, as you can see from the refrigerator (and this doesn’t include what’s in the cooler in the garage):
The next morning, Betsy, Stacey and I hike the Burdette Creek trail:
and nothing gets lost today. By the afternoon, Lance has arrived with Lisa, and a brand new chain saw. I was worried about Lisa having to go with Lance, but evidently it was like an amusement park for her! The tour, and then, yes, you guessed it:
and a tough journey back from the garden with Mary Anne:
A busy day indeed. Stacey ended up like her daughter, nephew and niece before her:
asleep in the big, comfy chair, while Bets reads on the window-seat:
