Domingo

Up at 6:30, pen immediately in hand, and writing away. I have plenty of material to work with, that’s for sure!

Breakfast, which is my least favorite meal in Brazil (even on my last trip, with the spectacular exception on Lencois) is early. Back to shower, then walk the couple of blocks to Marina’s house. She has offered to give me a guided meditation to help my get started on my own practice. It lasts about 20 minutes and I feel rather calm and lightheaded when I leave.

By the time i arrive at my pousada, I feel very tired and crawl back into bed. I lie with my body completely straight, thinking that my back should really be feeling better by now. I ask out loud for healing, and fall asleep for two hours. When I wake up, my back feels much better, although I feel pretty darned spacey. I take some time to wake up and whaddya know, it’s time for lunch! Afterwards, I decide to go for a walk, but don’t get far before I turn back to the room to get my stuff for the waterfall, in case I decide to go. My umbrella and in meander through town and to the Casa (about a 15 minute walk, although I’m moving very slowly. How long will that last in Boulder, I wonder?). I sit on a bench overlooking the valley and meditate for a bit, then gazing down the dirt road to the waterfall, decide that that is way further than I have energy for. Meander back through town, stopping briefly at Frutti’s for a protein smoothie, then back you-know-where.

Chat with the kids, read, and enjoy the Sunday Times. An early dinner, then write 3 days of blogposts. More calls to kids, a little reading, then off to sleep. How will I ever handle my usual Boulder life schedule? Something needs to change!
