Wouldn’t you know it? I was lucky enough to observe quite the ski parade on Friday afternoon. Thursday was the last day of class, and a regular dumpsta pow day. When inside, there seemed to be no good reason to go out – you could hardly see and the snow was flying sideways from the wind. But out we went, and had a glorious time plowing the pow.
Still leaning back, but occasional moments of getting-it-right make it all worthwhile. Had to ice the knees last night…aah, me. Back to the subject at hand! Friday I took the day off and headed to town for what I heard was a delightful show of costumed individuals attempting to win a contest from the applause of the crowds and the points from the judges. All taking place at the base of Ajax (Aspen mountain) and emceed by an aging old queen, who had an engaging and hilarious banter. Some of my favorites were male flight attendants from Air New Zealand dressed up as conehead stewardesses:
and some peacocks (who asked the crowd if we’d like to see their pea-cocks):
and have you ever played one of the most popular iphone/ipad games: angry birds?
…Great fun and glorious sunny weather to enjoy the sights and laughs. Enjoyed the fruits of my schooling on Saturday and Sunday, and Bert was delighted that I no longer whine to cruise only groomed blues.
