Met up with Michael and Taylor at LAX, then overnighted at a local motel. But NOT before Taylor requesting (in an urgent way) that we find an In-and-Out Burger. We dropped Michael off to finish up a paper, then went about 10 minutes to consume a cheeseburger protein-style, cheeseburger animal-style and fries animal-style. Want a chocolate shake with that? No problem! We managed to stuff ourselves in the car and head back to rest for the adventure ahead. Up with the alarm and headed out to meet up with Rachel and Evan, Matthew and Michelle. Met the former in grocery parking lot and we stocked up on snacks and dinner (don’tcha know they had a Mexican delicatessen in the store!). Meanwhile, I ran into a little Mexican place in the adjacent strip center, and loaded up on an egg and chorizo breakfast sandwich (can you tell we like to eat?). So good that the kids went back for more! Ended up meeting M&M in the Coachella parking lot, where they had to hang out trying to find entry tickets. Meanwhile, our two cars were parked in line for about 2 hours waiting for security teams to search our cars so we could enter the campground. Good, clean fun! During the search, they took away our propane bottle, but the women in the car next to us (painted with: We Hate Rabbits!) picked it up surreptitiously and brought it to us on the other side. We’re all in this together! Set up camp, checked out our surroundings, ate, texted with M&M to track their (lack of) progress. Oh well, maybe tomorrow!
