For those of you who don’t know, I am fortunate to be a member of a close-knit community of crazy people who have served as my Boulder family for over 15 years. The interaction among members of the group with each other varies widely, but no matter what our differences in lifestyle and passions, we spend much time together throughout the calendar year, from birthdays and graduations, concerts and dancing, golf and mah-jong, family crises and relationship stumbles to weddings, funerals and everything in between. We are woven into each other’s lives in subtle ways that are not always apparent; but as soon as one of us is in need, it’s like a call to arms has been sounded. We are then all there – sharing information on what needs to be done and how, and, most importantly, following through to support our family-member in need. By way of a long explanation, Memorial Day at the Levin Pool is an annual rite of passage to summer, never complete without an overabundance of food, ribs, mixed drinks from the blender, an appearance by our wise uncle Holland, fun in the pool, and mysterious trips to the barn. May we enjoy this one for many years to come….thank you for your open arms and incredible hospitality, David and Roberta!
