But first, we walk through Milan to hit a few highights:
– bicerin at the little shop reputed to have created it (which opened in 1763).
if you’re not acquainted, it’s a tuplip glass with bottomw third of coffee, next third with hot cocoa (and i mean chocolate and hote water – no sugar and no milk) and topped with half-whipped cream. DO NOT STIR! enjoy each sip with an evolving combination of parts. aaaah!
– back to Peck for a gourmet lunch and to pick up some olive oil. fresh made pasta filled with porcini and spaghetti with caviar
– then to the batcave and off to the train. cab to our B&B, which was totally cute, but a pain for Michael to lug our suitcases up two flights of stairs. breakfast just outside our door each morning.
have the late afternoon to cruise around a bit. i was able to purchase all remaining food necessities: 5 more bottles of olive oil, unique-shaped handmade pasta, gold-award-winning chocolate from Guido Gobino (and guandjua, which i’d never had before), and finally a nightgown (i’d forgotten to pack!!!!). back to place to drop everything off, and then off to dinner to a place recommended by our hosts. regional specialties and only italians.
great meal and we walked wee-wee-wee all the way home.
